A New Take on ‘Taste of Cherry,’ Starring Wagner Moura

Argentine auteur Lisandro Alonso is directing a Portuguese-language reimagining of Taste of Cherry (1997), Abbas Kiarostami’s Palme d’Or winner. Brazilian actor Wagner Moura takes the central role — the one indelibly played by Homayoun Ershadi in Kiarostami’s film.

Production has begun in Brazil under the working title O Aroma da Pitanga.
