3rd Koker International Short Film Festival

The 3rd Koker International Short Film Festival, organized in collaboration with the Kiarostami Foundation, continues Abbas Kiarostami’s artistic and humanistic legacy. Formerly the Abbas Kiarostami International Short Film Festival, it now carries the name Koker — the village immortalized in Kiarostami’s celebrated Koker Trilogy and a symbol of resilience, simplicity, and the poetic power of everyday life.

The festival runs 1–3 July 2026 at Klick Kino, Berlin, under the direction of Hamed Soleimanzadeh, in two sections: short films and short screenplays.

It welcomes independent short films from around the world that show artistic vision, originality, and a deep engagement with the human experience — supporting emerging voices, encouraging intercultural dialogue, and making space for bold, personal, and meaningful cinema. At a time when independent filmmaking faces increasing challenges, Koker remains committed to creative freedom and to cinema as a universal language of empathy, reflection, and hope.
