“Conversations with Kiarostami” by Godfrey Cheshire

Conversations with Kiarostami, by film critic and Iranian-cinema scholar Godfrey Cheshire, gathers a series of interviews he conducted with Abbas Kiarostami during the 1990s. Together they form a film-by-film account of his artistic development — from his first short, Bread and Alley (1970), to The Wind Will Carry Us (1999).

The book features a foreword by the director’s son, Ahmad Kiarostami, alongside Cheshire’s own introduction. It was published by Woodville Press in 2019.
